HOW IT WORKS
Our Process
ADA Compliance Audit
We count your current accessible spaces, measure dimensions, check signage heights, and verify your lot meets the required ratio of accessible to total spaces per Florida and federal standards.
Compliance Plan
We provide a written scope of work identifying exactly what needs to be added, corrected, or refreshed — with no surprises on cost or scope.
Surface Preparation
Existing faded markings are evaluated. We prep the surface and remove any conflicting old markings that would confuse the new layout.
Precision Marking
Access aisles, space boundaries, ISA symbols, and text are applied using professional equipment — straight, clean, and measured to ADA specification.
Signage & Final Inspection
ADA parking signs are installed at the correct height and position. We walk the entire accessible area with you to confirm every element meets code before we leave.
COMMON QUESTIONS
FAQ
Under the ADA, the number of accessible spaces scales with total lot size: 1–25 spaces requires 1 accessible space; 26–50 requires 2; 51–75 requires 3; and so on. At least 1 in every 6 accessible spaces must be van-accessible. We calculate the exact requirement for your lot at no charge.
A standard accessible space must be at least 96 inches (8 ft) wide with a 60-inch (5 ft) access aisle. Van-accessible spaces require either a 96-inch (8 ft) access aisle or a 132-inch (11 ft) wide space. All dimensions must be measured on a flat, level surface.
The International Accessibility Symbol (ISA) is the familiar blue wheelchair icon. It's painted on the pavement of each accessible space and must be visible and correctly proportioned per ADA spec. A corresponding sign must also be mounted above the windshield level of a parked vehicle.
Yes. ADA violations can result in civil complaints, DOJ investigations, and fines up to $75,000 for a first violation and $150,000 for subsequent violations. Private plaintiffs can also file lawsuits. The cost of compliance is a small fraction of the potential liability.
Most ADA striping jobs — refreshing or adding accessible spaces and installing signage — are completed in a single visit, typically 2–4 hours. Lots requiring extensive layout changes may take longer.
“Brandon and the crew at Walk the Line did a phenomenal job on my parking lot. The lines are perfectly straight, the ADA markings are spot-on, and they finished ahead of schedule. I’ve worked with a lot of contractors over the years — these guys are the real deal. Will absolutely call them for our next property.”
